Justin Bellanger has over 25 years of experience in research, policy and development, corporate governance related to the aquaculture, fisheries and natural resource management (NRM) sectors.

His career highlights include CEO for South Coast Natural Resource Management, Research Scientist with Department of Fisheries, and Director positions on the Aquaculture Council of WA, Biosecurity Council of WA, Centre for Invasive Species Solutions, National Environmental Biosecurity Advisory Group, the National and WA Myrtle Rust Working Groups, and multiple Chambers of Commerce.

Prior to being appointed to the role of CEO for the Aquaculture Council of WA he was the Independent Chair of the Council for two years.

He currently also provides executive governance and management services to the biosecurity and NRM sectors, and is a qualified technical and social auditor by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council and Marine Stewardship Council.

Mr Bellanger is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management. He has Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Aquaculture from James Cook University.

He has been recognised through a range of awards and finalist positions for the work he has led, including the National Environmental Biosecurity Award, a finalist in the Business Person of the Year Award (Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry), and as a winner of the Indigenous category for the National Landcare Awards.
